Defining IBSE

Finding a common definition of IBSE is not easy. Teachers, educators and researchers may hold different perspective on what IBSE is and that has implications on how it is implemented in practice. PATHWAY another EU funded project carried out a literature review which resulted in identifying the essential features of IBSE. In addition PATHWAY’s framework of IBSE distinguishes variations in relation to how open or structured the pedagogy looks like when it is implemented.

Read more about how IBSE is defined by the PATHWAY project and find out whether your IBSE approach fits with their framework and how open or structured is your approach.
