In this section you will find a host of resources for teaching IBSE. We’ve searched through many books, education packs and websites to find resources relevant for teaching in botanic gardens and other informal education settings. For each one we’ve prepared a short review and a link to the relevant website. We have also developed resources especially for the INQUIRE project. Communities of Practice
During the course of the INQUIRE project, Partners are being encouraged to set up ‘communities of practice’. This is a term for a group of people engaged in a process of collective learning. There are plenty of websites that provide advise on setting up a Community of Practice. We've selected two of the best.

Pitcher plants as tiny ecosystems – educational microcosms for IBSE
Large and complex topics, like how ecosystems work for example, can be challenging to explain. Using small, observable experiments can therefore be useful in simulating of landscape-scale processes. Scientists have used pitcher plants as tiny model ecosystems to study how “tipping points” are triggered in lakes and ponds. Perhaps this could generate some ideas for IBSE demonstrations?
