Terracycle is an international project that started in Spain in April 2011.  Since then, Ecocampus has been participating by collecting used writing materials. These are sent by the ENVIALIA Agency to the headquarters of Terracycle.

The process of recycling pens and other similar objects is complex.Terracycle is carrying out that process, creating    interesting items and donating part of the benefits to humanitarian causes such as:

  • Donation to the Talita FoundationTalita is an association that helps us all to live and understand diversity, respecting the rights of people to realize their full potential and helping children with learning difficulties.

  • Donation of five vaccines against Haemophilus influenzae type B (HiB), hepatitis, diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus. Donation of five packets of rehydration salts for a child with diarrhea.

  • Donation of a test to establish whether a child has malaria.
  • Collaboration with the + trees Foundation to create a biological corridor linkingTarifa with the Pyrenees. This reforestation project will create 2,800 kms of forest from the north to the south of Spain.
