The INQUIRE course in Germany has developed this new lesson plan to teach by using an IBSE pedagogy the role of CO2 in climate warming and what may happen if the earth’s ice masses melt.

Shrubs diminish the positive impact of moors on climate change

For the first time, a research team from the “Eidgenössische Forschungsanstalt für Wald, Schnee und Landschaft” (WSL) and the “Eidgenössische Hochschule Lausanne” (ETH) examined why moors could lose their role as carbon sinks in future. For this purpose, they investigated the complex interactions between plants and microorganisms that lead to the distribution of shrubs in bogs.
