Seeds that Survived Hiroshima to be Planted in Siberian Garden

A set of seeds from A-bomb survivor trees, picked in Hiroshima in 2011, has arrived at the Irkutsk Botanic Garden in Siberia, Russia. The seeds are from Ginko, Camphor, Kurogane holly, Persimmon and Aogiri trees.

The German Ministry of Education and Research is running a "Science Year 2012" under the motto ”Zukunftsprojekt Erde" ("Future Project Earth"). In this context the network platform Biodiversity Germany is focusing on biodiversity and its many benefits for mankind - the so called "ecosystem services".
