New Exhibit of Plants from North America and East Asia in MSU Botanic Garden

A new exhibit of plants from North America and East Asia was created this summer in the alpinarium of MSU’s Botanic Garden on Sparrow Hills. It was officially opened on September 14, 2012. Creation of the new exhibit involved planting of around 150 species, many of which are rare and little known in cultivation.

International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

The United Nations' (UN) International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is celebrated on September 16 every year. This event commemorates the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987.
