A new lesson to teach young people about tree growth and climate change is now available.

‘What Story Could a Twig tell?’ is a flexible and challenging lesson to teach young people about tree morphology and growth and how this is affected by climate change.

During this lesson young people take measurements from twigs to draw conclusions about their growth over the past few years. Using these ideas, they design and carry out further experiments.

In doing this, they learn about plant science, how to perform investigations based on trees and exercise their investigative, practical and communication skills.
You can download this lesson plan and others from the resources section of the INQUIRE website.
