The first international "Fascination of Plants Day" will be launched under the umbrella of the European Plant Science Organisation (EPSO). The goal of this activity is to get as many people as possible around the world fascinated by plants and enthused about the importance of plant science for agriculture, in sustainably producing food, and for horticulture, forestry and non-food products such as paper, timber, chemicals, energy and pharmaceuticals. The role of plants in environmental conservation will also be a key message.

The Real Jardín Botánico Juan Carlos I (Alcalá de Henares, Spain) will hold an exhibition entitled "Textile Plants", featuring various items made by hand from plants, with explanatory signs. In addition, we will develop an outdoor workshop on some techniques of basketwork. Visitors can then see these plants growing in the Garden during a self-guided tour. Maps will be made provided.
